High stall occupancy = Increased herd health
|
After extensive testing and consultation and the use of time-lapse videos the C50-stall was developed. With increased lunge space, height and bed length, it allows much more freedom of movement for the cows.
The goal was to design a complete 'Cow Comfort' system including the Pasture Mat® to give the cow the closest environment to the natural pasture. Along with the open front stall, we have raised the neck-rail up from 45" to 50". By raising this rail up by 5" the rail does not impede the cow when she walks into the stall.
The video research showed us that by raising the rail when a cow walks into the stall she stands in the stall with all 4 feet. This gets her off the concrete and into the stall. Cows were no longer standing half in the stall and half out of the stall. This ensures the cows will spend less time on the concrete decreasing foot, and associated problems!
