Milk Robot Planning event

Last week Ivor Davey, from Wilson Agriculture, was pleased to be speaking at another ‘Planning for robots seminar’  organised by www.healthycows.co.uk
This time it was held in Lancashire, with future events scheduled for Cornwall and Gloucestershire later in 2013.  There were around 45 farmers who attended with a wide range or speakers.

Ivor Davey was speaking on ‘Adapting and planning buildings for robotic milking units’.  Through working in the dairy industry for 13 years Ivor has now considerable experience in designing housing to suit all types of robotic systems.  Mr Davey said:

“…with milk robots the housing is even more important as the cows will seldom leave the building.  It is important to consider the different options of cow flow, from milk first, guided flow or free access systems.”

Ivor Davey has worked closely with all the milk robot companies and enjoys the challenge of designing layouts to suit renovations or new green field sites.
